Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has directed P Ravi Kumar, Chief Secretary to issue an order to reduce bogus complaints.
In his letter, Chief Minister pointed out that the government had issued a circular in 2019, that no anonymous complaints against State Government employees would be entertained.
This rule was however misused by many complainants who would give their wrong names and addresses. This only burdened the government officials with additional work and put the employees under a lot of stress.
The chief minister informed that no further action will be taken up if the full name and address are not mentioned in the complaint.
The concerned officials must check whether the name, address, and complaint is genuine and only then they must proceed.
Justifying the above, he said that this is to remove the sense of fear among officials and to protect honest government servants.
According to Shadakshari, president of Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association, bogus complaints are an unnecessarily waste of time and money of the government as these bogus complaints are often with a vested interest.
