Mangaluru: Indira canteens remain shut; staff report unpaid salary

Mangaluru: Indira canteens at Puttur, Sullia, and Bantwal remained shut for the last six days due to the negligence of the government officials. As the staff has not been paid salaries for the last four months, they closed down the canteens on Saturday, February 20
It is said that the district administration has not released grants to the companies running the canteens due to which the salary has been pending
Indian Human Welfare Council has been running 130 canteens in the state and migrant labourers and students were dependent on these canteens
