Chamarajanagar: MLA Yatindra Siddaramaiah, son of former chief minister Siddaramaiah, has commented that Hinduism and Hindutva are two different things and opposing Hindutva is not akin to being anti-Hindu.
Yatindra was speaking at an event organised by the local district Congress committee here on Saturday.
He explained that Hindutva is a political principle where one has to live stubbornly, while Hinduism is inclusive. Adding that our party workers must understand this and should communicate it further to our people.
“RSS visits every home and brainwashes people into believing that Congress is anti-Hindu. Hindutva and Hindu are not the same,” he said.
“Communalist sentiment has increased since the BJP came to power. Our country is a secular country and the Constitution was made so. India does not belong to a single faith,” he added.
“The election is only two years away. Workers must work diligently for the party. Congress must come to power by the strength of our party workers. We will take our country towards prosperity,” he said.
