Bengaluru: Government sets up a company to handle garbage collection

Bengaluru: Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Basvaraj Bommai said on Wednesday, the Karnataka cabinet decided to  establish a separate entity, the Bengaluru Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited to handle the city’s garbage disposal problem

It is said that the new company will be headed by an Additional Chief Secretary and will be independent from the Bengaluru Civic Body.

The company’s sole responsibility will be to handle garbage-related issues in the city. It will also be incharge of waste to energy plants

Also, both the Karnataka government and Bengaluru Civic Body will be partners with the company.
