Udupi: 2 arrested for peddling drugs, 2.2kg ganja seized

Udupi: After obtaining permission from the superintendent of police, Udupi CEN police station PSI Narayana. honorary officer and staff arrested two drug peddlers with ganja in their possession on March 8.

The arrested have been identified as Poornachandra Das (23), a native of Jagatsinghpur, Odisha now residing in Badagubettu, Manipal, and Kamalu (28), a native of Nabarangpur, Odisha currently residing near Lake View Bar, Manipal.

Reports state that the accused were looking for customers near the Vasudha Comforts area in Badagabettu at 9.30 am on March 8.

Over 2.20kg of ganja which amounts to Rs. 70,000, two mobile phones worth Rs. 9000, a blue, and ash-colored shoulder bag, and 18 plastic bags were seized by the police.

Under the crime registration number- 19/2019 under section 8 (c), 20 (b) (ii), (B) NDPS Act 1985, a case at CEN Police station has been registered.
