Electricity generation stunted in Karnataka due to technical error

Shivamogga: An executive engineer at the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) has said that due to a technical fault power generation in Karnataka Power Corporation Limited, Udupi Power Corporation Limited, and other central power plants has been halted.
“The State’s electricity grid is facing a total shortage of 4281 MW of power. This is causing a loss of 200 MW of power from the total power allocated to MESCOM,” he added.
“Therefore, the supply of electricity is being irregularly in the districts coming under MESCOM. Electricity will be supplied to power irrigation pump sets from 8 am to 4 pm and from midnight to 4 am,” he said.
“Power generation is expected to improve in the next week. Consumers are requested to cooperate,” he said.
