Sullia: Truck-bus catch fire after head-on collision, one charred to death

Sullia: A driver of the truck was charred to death after a collision between a container truck and a private bus at Nellyadi on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway.

The deceased has been identified as Santhosh, a native of Mysuru.

A bus belonging to Sri Durga Travels was plying to Bengaluru from Kundapur when it collided head-on with a container truck at Mannagundi in Nellyadi, as the result, the truck caught fire, and the driver in the truck was burnt alive as he could not come out.

The bus driver and passengers who suffered minor injuries were shifted to the hospital.

Following the incident, the locals rushed to the spot and helped to douse the fire. Fire service personnel and police reached the spot and took further action.

A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station in this regard.
