Mysuru: A 30-gram gold casket belonging to Male Mahadeshwara Temple atop MM Hills in Hanur Taluk in Chamarajanagar has been found along with temple waste on March 25.

It went missing on March 18.

On March 25, Sunil Kumar an outsource staff of the temple, found the casket lying in the waste dumping area in front of the temple at about 3.45 pm.

Police officers and temple authorities visited the spot at 4 pm. The casket was later handed over to the temple trust.

The police will investigate the negligence that caused this in the first place.

The gold casket went missing after the annual festival on March 18 and the incident came to light when priests and other staff were verifying the ornaments on the night of March 18.

Jaya Vibhava Swamy, temple executive officer informed that a notice was served to the priests and a complaint was lodged at MM Hills police station.
