Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi on Monday said that 10 demands were put forth by transport corporation employees, out of which 9 have been accepted by the state government. Further, if they decide to protest, then we will use Private buses as an alternative

Speaking after the meeting with Chief Minister, Savadi said, ” Transport employees had put forth ten demands in front of the Karnataka government. The government ruled out considering  transport workers’ demands to be treated as government employees, but all the other legitimate needs within financial limitations have been looked into”

“Also, the demand for salary hike as per 6th pay commission was discussed in today’s meeting. The finance department has promised to review the issue within two days,” he added

He further requested the transport employees to not cause inconvenience to the commuters and promised to fulfil all the demands

“If the employees decide to protest, we will use 1,200 private buses as an alternative. We will give free permit to private buses. Certain relaxations would also be given to private bus operators to run their vehicles to ensure that the public does not face any inconvenience,” he said
