Sir M Visvesvaraya terminal to be inaugurated soon by PM Modi

Bengaluru: The Sir M Visvesvaraya railway terminal at Baiyappanahalli will be inaugurated soon and the terminal will be operational shortly

The terminal will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modiand the event will probably be online.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, Suneet Sharma inspected the terminal on Sunday and said that they are waiting for a date from the Prime Minister’s Office

The station building is of 4,200 square meter covered area to cater to daily footfalls of 50,000.

The  314-crore station building is modeled after the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. The terminal has seven platforms, apart from eight stabling lines and three pit lines. Every platform is 15m wide and 600m long.

It is said that an agency has already been roped in to maintain cleanliness, platforms and other public areas of the station will be cleaned on a regular basis, like metro stations
