Bengaluru: After actress Pranitha Subhash, actor, director and producer Rishab Shetty has made an appeal to the State government to save the Model High School in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet.
It was reported on Tuesday, March 30, that the school, which is the first and presently only Kannada-medium school in the city, is closing permanently due to a shortage of students.
Soon after the news was reported, Pranitha demanded that the government pay attention to this issue and also announced that she will provide as much assistance as possible from her charitable trust to re-open the school.
Tweeting about it, Rishabh stated, “Saddened by the closure of Bengaluru’s first Kannada-medium school which was also where Dr Vishnuvardhan studied. I request the State government to look into this matter.”

The 150-year-old school has seen no admission of students in the last three years. Due to this reason, the school’s governing body decided to close the school.
