Belthangady: Carcasses of monkeys were recovered from two different spots within Belthangady Taluk on Wednesday, March 31
One of the carcasses was found at Bendethota forest near Karamballii in Mundaje village and another was found near Netravathi River in Dharmasthala. Several officials visited the spots and conducted an inspection.
As the carcass found at Bandethota forest was thoroughly decomposed, it was buried without a post-mortem, however, the carcass found near Nethrvathi river was sent for post-mortem, and viscera was sent to the laboratory at Shiviamogga.
Although the reason for their deaths is yet to be ascertained, it suspected that someone might be feeding them poisonous food and throwing their carcasses in the forest.
This is the such fourth incident being reported during the last two months
