Bantwal: No bus stand on highway in BC Road causing problems

Bantwal: Serial stoppages of buses on the highway in downtown BC Road has become the cause for traffic problems.
Buses plying from Mangaluru to Puttur, Dharmasthala and Vitla, as well as to Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru and Davanagere stop here.
These buses wait here for a while for commuters. This leads to a long queue of buses standing one behind the other blocking movements of other vehicles on the highway.
A rickshaw stand adjacent to the bus stop also has to suffer due to the buses long queues blocking their way.
Buses coming from Puttur and Dharmasthala stop on the service road before moving to Mangaluru. However, due to the flyover on the highway here other vehicles do not suffer much trouble.
Bantwal traffic police station Sub Inspector Rajesh KV states, “this problem is caused as there is no proper bus stop for the buses. We advise staff of buses not to wait much longer on the highway. More buses arriving at the same time also causes a problem. All this causes a lot of parking problem on BC Road.”
