Madikeri: Drunk man sets his house on fire; 3 including 6-yo dead

Madikeri: An incident where an inebriated man burned his house and family members after pouring petrol over them was reported from Mugutageri village’s Kanuru Road in Virajpete taluk on Saturday.
The accused man, Eravara Bhoja, is absconding after committing the crime.
Eravara Manju, Bhoja’s son, and 5-6 relatives of the family who had arrived recently were sleeping in the house when Bhoja arrived at about 2 am in a drunken state, bolted all the doors and windows from the outside, climbed the roof, poured petrol into the house after removing a few roof tiles and set it on fire.
Three of the locked family members, Pani Eravara Sita (45), Baby (40) and Prarthana (6), burned to death.
Five others have been admitted to a hospital in Mysuru. The condition of two children, aged 6 and 7 years, is serious.
The police have registered a case and have started a search for Bhoja.
