Theatre occupancy issue: Min Sudhakar says decision can’t be changed for appeasement

Bengaluru: Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar stated that the decision to restrict theatre occupancy to 50 per cent cannot be changed to please someone as it concerns the health of the people in the State.
Reacting to a three-day concession given to the film industry, Sudhakar said that he doesn’t want to comment much on it. People’s lives and livelihoods both are important. CM Yediyurappa was under pressure. He ensured that no one was adversely impacted by the decision.
“I am also under pressure from educational institutions, theatres and gym owners. However, not everyone can be provided with concessions in restrictions. I have had discussions with the Union Health Minister and the Union Health Secretary for 25 lakh additional doses of the anti-COVID-19 vaccines as the 8 lakh presently available will be used in the next three days,” the minister said.
