Surathkal: Watchman of stranded dredger at Guddekopla beach found dead

Surathkal: The dead body of a security guard of the stranded dredger ‘Bhagvati Prem’ was found near the vessel at the Guddekopla beach here.

The dead guard was identified as Shankar (32), a native of northern Karnataka.

The company that owns the dredger had hired two private security personnel to guard the stranded vessel.

Every day, the two security guards are left at the dredger by a boat.

Shankar had recently joined as the security guard of the dredger. On Sunday, he and another guard were together till 11 pm.

Hence, it is supposed that Shankar’s death might have occurred after that time.

The exact cause of his death is yet to be determined.

A case has been registered at the Surathkal police station.
