Mangaluru: A large protest was held by the residents of Bengre near here against the building of a berth and dredging facility on the coast here under the Sagarmala project.
Protestors were seen holding placards stating that they will not allow the land on which the Bengre government school is located to be acquired for the project.
Demands were also heard for more facilities for the fishermen such as a jetty for their boats rather than the berth which will force relocation of many of them.
