Mangaluru, Udupi: On the first day of the road transport corporations’ employees strike, KSRTC buses were not seen on the roads in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

Only private buses were plying as usual, which saw more than usual passenger traffic.

The KSRTC bus stand at Mangaluru wore a deserted look early in the morning with no employee of the corporation appearing for duty. Similar was the view in Udupi bus depot.

Later, private buses were allowed to enter and operate from the depots.

Government buses from neighbouring Kerala to Mangaluru were operating as usual.

The presence of police personnel was seen in Mangaluru depot to contain any untoward incident.
