Chikkaballapur: MP B N Bache Gowda on Thursday, April 8 said that he has requested the Center to turn the Yettinahole water diversion project into a Central project and to provide more grants for the same. He also added that he will keep his word to the people and make sure the project ends by 2023.
Addressing the media, the MP asserted, “Yettinahole project is a drinking water project which will benefit the Bayalu Seeme region (Area lying to the east of Malenadu) of up to 7-8 districts. I have requested the center to imbibe this project into a national project and to provide the necessary grants.”
He further informed that under the Pradhanmantri Sadak yojana about Rs 173.13 crores of money was released in 2020-2021 for the 9 taluks in the limits of Chikkaballapur district. Out of this Rs 45.63 crores has been allotted to Yalahanka taluk in Bengaluru for 46.11 km road, Hosakote, Devanahalli, Doddaballapur, Nelamangala taluks have been allotted a sum of Rs 61.30 crore for 97.94 km road, Chikkaballapura, Gauribidanur, Gundibandi, Baagepalli taluk in Chikkaballapur have been allotted with Rs 66.20 crore for 105.74 km road.
Expressing his disappointment over the RTC strike he said, “The economic condition of the state and country isn’t good due to the pandemic. Protesting when the demands haven’t been met is everyone’s right. Calling for a strike when the state’s economy is recovering amidst the pandemic and causing inconvenience to the public isn’t right.”
He further requested the transport workers to call off the strike and get back to their responsibilities.
