Kodihalli declares Yugadi as deadline for govt to resolve RTC employees’ issues

Bengaluru: Union leader Kodihalli Chandrashekhar has issued a deadline till Yugadi for the chief minister to address the striking RTC employees issues.
Speaking at a news conference after meeting with various trade union leaders on Thursday, he alleged that the government had previously agreed to pay salaries of the transport employees as per the Sixth Pay Commission but then backtracked.
“After the strike notice was issued on March 16, there were 22 days to resolve the issue. During this period there was not a single meeting organised with the chief minister or the transport minister. They later pressured the labour department to order that the strike is not legal. The labour department has been acting irresponsibly,” he said.
