Bengaluru: Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti on Friday said that SSLC exams should not be cancelled as it will affect the future of the students

Speaking to the reporters, Horatti said, ” Over 70 per cent of parents want the examination to be conducted. I have written a letter to the state government and advised the state government not to cancel or postpone the examinations for SSLC. Conducting examinations as per the schedule will increase the interest of children towards learning”

He further said, ” The department of Primary and Secondary Education should take all necessary measures to conduct the exams as per the schedule”

“Our education structure is different from other states. A few states have a three-tier structure but we do not follow that structure of education. If the exams are cancelled, 8 lakh students will be given the same marks. Due to which it will be difficult for the students to take admission in their desired college,” he opined
