Haleyangadi lightning incident: 5-year-old boy undergoing treatment dies

Haleyangadi: One of two children who were seriously injured after being hit by lightning died on Wednesday, April 21.

The deceased is Nihaan (5), son of Mansoor. The other injured Marutesh (6), son of Durgappa from Gangavathi is currently undergoing treatment and his condition is said to be critical.

Nihan and Marutesh were playing in front of a house in Indiranagar, Haleyangadi when lightning struck. Both fell unconscious. They were admitted into a private hospital at Mukka with the help of the locals.

From there, they were referred to a private hospital at Mangaluru as the children needed expert care.
