Mysuru: The Rs 28 lakhs raised to rebuild the library of Syed Isaaq (62) that was burned down by miscreants on April 9 at Rajeev Nagar in the city here, has been decided to be refunded to its donors.

After the news of the burning of the library run by Isaaq, a drainage cleaner, went viral, a techie by the name of Fateen Misbah started a Ketto crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a new library.

Later, when the Mysuru Corporation decided to rebuild the library with its own money, there were discussions on social media about what will happen to the money raised through crowdfunding.

Misbah declared that now as the government will pay for the rebuilding of the library he would return the collected money.
