Puttur: Dhananjay, a resident of Markanja in Sullia taluk and an art teacher by profession has created a facemask made of coconut shell.

Using a blade, Dhananjay made the mask in one day.

The mask has a ventilation mechanism to allow for the passage of air.

Dhananjaya worked delicately to make the mask lightweight and giving it a gentle look.

He has already made bangles, pen stands, mobile stands, vermillion box, candle stands, letterbox, a fish figure, pickle jar, spoon, jewellery box and rings using coconut shells.

“Coconut shells are a very versatile material and I developed a passion for making tens of different things from it. I made the coconut shell mask in a day. It is very comfortable,” said Dhananjay.
