Oxygen plants soon at Wenlock, taluk hosps, says MLA Kamath

Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath on Monday said that 5 new oxygen plants will come up at all the taluk hospitals and the Wenlock district hospital.

He was speaking at a meeting organised at the Deputy Commissioner’s office attended by officials from the Indian Medical Association.

In the meeting, the MLA announced that Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited will construct a plant at the Bantwal taluk and the ESI Hospital using their CSR funds. While Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited will construct a plant in another taluk.

“Two small units of oxygen plants will also be built in two other taluks,” he added.

“Wenlock hospital will have a large oxygen refilling unit which will be ready in 1.5 months,” the MLA said.
