People have been turning to Twitter asking for leads regarding COVID resources such as oxygen cylinders, covid beds and, other assistance like meals for patients, academic help, and commute.

On April 26, India recorded over three lakh cases, taking the country’s caseload to 1.73 crores and 1.95 lakh deaths.

Twitter is filled with numerous pieces of information and at times it becomes difficult to filter through it, as the information could be old or unverified.

Twitter is rolling out its advanced search feature that will help users to look for specific requirements. Users can narrow down the search to place, hashtags, and how recent the tweet was posted using the advanced search feature. Users must note that the more specific they are, the more likely will they find information that is accurate and helpful.

Twitter India tweeted, “All across the country, people are using Twitter to find the latest information and access to resources right now. As this people’s movement unfolds, we wanted to remind you of some of the features that could help you find what you’re looking for faster #Covid19IndiaHelp”

How to use the new tool to look for specific information?

  1. Open Twitter
  2. Under advanced search, type the resource that you are looking for. Be very specific and use hashtags such as #verified. You can also choose the language in which you want to search.
  3. You can filter dates and look for recent resources rather than going down the rabbit hole.
  4. You can get information from relevant accounts too.
  5. You can also choose to hide the replies of a tweet or view a specific tweet if you want to.
  6. You can even add a filter for minimum replies, minimum likes, minimum retweets, to show tweets that have a specific engagement level.
  7. Tap search after filling the appropriate fields.
