Mangaluru: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has stated that there will be a high alert in the city as well as the district during the 14-day lockdown.
“More precautionary measures have been taken in Mangaluru. 54 check posts have been set up on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner. Police officials will be working at these check-posts in three shifts,” Shashikumar said.
“There will be two squads in each police station to prevent anyone from violating the rules. I request everyone to abide by the rules to prevent a rise in the number of COVID-19 infections,” he added.
“Citizens are already responding positively to the lockdown as no vehicles were seen moving in Mangaluru city after 9 pm on April 27. I request again do not violate the law as we will register cases against those moving unnecessarily during the lockdown,” Shashikumar warned.
