#Bedscam: BBMP bed allocation software to be revamped, Tejaswi thanks tech volunteers

Bengaluru: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Wednesday, May 5 said that he spoke to Infosys co-founder and the non-executive chairman Nandan Nilekani and sought his help to revamp BBMP bed allocation software.

Taking to Twitter Tejaswi wrote, “Had a conversation with Sri Nandan Nilekani this morning and sought his help to revamp BBMP bed allocation software. Lots of gratitude to him for putting the very best tech architects on the job immediately. Yet again, he has proved he is always available for Bengaluru!”

“Nandan Nilekani team of tech architects, also assisted by iSpirit @Product_nation will redesign the bed booking software to make it efficient, transparent, and minimize manual intervention. I thank the tech volunteers for helping this cause. People of Bengaluru will be grateful to you!,” he added.

Tejasvi Surya on Tuesday, May 4 alleged that hospitals in the city ‘blocked’ beds in fake names to make money, at a time when COVID-19 cases were rising in the country and Karnataka.

“At least 4,065 beds were ‘blocked’ in fake names by the hospitals to make a killing,” the BJP Yuva Morcha president and Bengaluru South BJP MP alleged.
