Chitradurga: After a three-hour operation the forest officials of Muddappur village finally caught a big cat that had entered a house.
On May 8 business correspondent at Karnataka Grameen Vikas Bank (Chitradurga), Chidanand said his wife Netravati woke up to the horror of seeing the big cat entering their house from the back door early in the morning.
Netravati’s scream on seeing the leopard alerted the villagers who gathered near the house and informed forest officers about the incident. Meanwhile, Chidanand latched the front and back doors from outside
On reaching the house, officials spotted the big cat in the kitchen and finally trapped it in a cage.
It is gathered that the leopard must have come from a nearby hilly area.
Nowadays animals from forest and hilly areas keep straying into villages in search of prey.
