Chikkamagaluru: Retired deputy tehsildar shoots himself in the head after testing +ve for COVID-19

Chikkamagaluru: A retired deputy tehsildar committed suicide by shooting himself in the head on Monday after testing positive for COVID-19.

The incident occurred at Belenahalli Tandya in Tarikere taluk of the district.

The deceased identified as Soma Nayak killed himself in his car parked in his house’s garden.

In the suicide note, he has said that he committed suicide in fear of spreading the infection throughout his family.

Tarikere police officials visited and inspected the site.
