M’luru, Udupi: COVID-19 death toll rises in DK; Udupi sees decrease in infections

Mangaluru, Udupi: Even though the number of new COVID-19 cases in the Dakshina Kannada district is decreasing, the number of deaths from the virus is rising.
On Monday, 1,175 new cases were reported along with 5 deaths in the district.
In the neighbouring Udupi district, the number of infections and those dying from the virus has been reducing. 885 cases were recorded on Monday while 642 recovered and 3 died in the district.
Kasargod district in Kerala too is seeing a slight increase in the number of daily cases. 919 infections and 825 recoveries were reported here.
In view of the rising cases, 31 new containment zones were declared on Monday in Dakshina Kannada district.
