Met Dept forecasts thunderstorm in Udupi, DK and Kodagu dists on Monday evening

Bengaluru: In a release, the Meteorological Centre here has issued a ‘nowcast’ predicting thunderstorm in coastal districts of the State.

“Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning with light to moderate spells of rain and gusty winds speed reaching 30-40 kmph likely to affect your district (Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu) in the next 03 hours,” the release read.

Coastal Karnataka has already been receiving moderate to heavy rainfall for the past few weeks.

Few areas have suffered property damages due to lightning strikes.
