Karnataka now first in country in active COVID-19 cases

New Delhi/Bengaluru: Karnataka has overtaken Maharashtra in the number of active COVID-19 cases.

As per data available with the health ministry, Karnataka has 5,92,202 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday, while Maharashtra has 5,48,507 cases.

Kerala came third with 4,33,143 active cases followed by Rajasthan with 2,09,110 and Uttar Pradesh with 2,06,615.

However, Karnataka comes third in positivity rate, presently at 32.9 per cent.

Goa at 48.1 per cent, Puducherry at 42.5 per cent and West Bengal at 34.3 per cent take the first three spot.

Reportedly cases in Karnataka are peaking and are supposedly starting to fall.
