Moodbidri: MLA Umanath Kotian convened a meeting of Covid Task Force at Moodbidri to discuss the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking at the meeting, the MLA said, ” At the beginning of vaccination drive, People were hesitant to get themselves vaccinated, now when most of them want to get vaccinated, there is a shortage of vaccine in the state. We have requested the government to provide adequate doses as soon as possible. Members of the task force must create awareness among the public regarding the vaccine”

He further said, “As Moodbidri Taluk does not have a Taluk hospital, we are not getting enough vaccines to facilitate vaccination programme for 18-44 age group. I will bring this issue to the notice of concerned officials. Also, there is a demand for separate ambulance facilities  in rural areas”

Tahsildar Venkatesh Nayak said that the government will set up 350 beds (excluding oxygen cylinders) in all government hostels and Kannada Bhavans in Moodabidri.

The officials also informed of the helpline numbers 9632187159 or 08258-236236 that has been established for Covid-19 related emergencies in the Taluk.
