CM BSY garlands Basaveshwara statue to mark Basava Jayanti

Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday paid floral tributes and garlanded the statue of Basavanna to mark Basava Jayanti near Basaveshwar circle in the city
Speaking during the occasion, BS Yediyurappa said, ” Basavanna is a 12th-century philosopher, poet, and social reformer. The Anubhava Mantapa set up by him in Bidar district is regarded as the genesis of parliamentary democracy in Indian history”
Shri Shivarudra Swamiji of Beli Matt, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, BDA President R Vishwanath, MP PC Mohan, BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta and Basava Committee Chairman Dr C Somashekhar were also present.
