Bengaluru: Mucormycosis or Black Fungus cases are on a rise in Karnataka among Covid-19 patients.
It is said 12 people in Hubbali and 4 people in Raichur have been infected with black fungus. They are currently being treated with the available medications
A rare but serious fungal infection, mucormycosis or ‘black fungus’ is being detected relatively frequently among Covid-19 patients. The disease often manifests in the skin and also affects the lungs and the brain.
A few experts claim that the infections are due to the poor quality of water used in humidified oxygen.
