Udupi: Soon after a group of students from West Bengal stranded at the government hostel at Barkur posted an appeal for help on social media on Tuesday after food and other provisions ran low in their hostel, MLA Raghupati Bhat and Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha immediately supplied them with the needed items.
Of the 13 undergraduate students, 7 had tested positive for COVID-19 and were in isolation.
A medical team also arrived at the hostel to collect samples from those students who were not tested.
The student’s post on social media also brought them help from locals and organisations.
