Bengaluru: Education Minister Suresh Kumar has requested Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to announce a special package for teachers in unaided institutions.
“The contributions of teachers working in unaided private educational institutions is huge in improving the quality of education. But now, they are in financial distress due to the lockdown as the educational institutions have faced financial stress and are facing problems in paying teachers,” he said in the letter.
He further wrote, “Amid pandemic, several teachers have no income and are working as daily wage laborers. It is our responsibility to help them. I request you to announce a special economic package for the teachers and non-teaching staff working in unaided institutions”
