Bengaluru: State’s Revenue Minister R Ashok on Thursday said that designated children’s hospital would be set up across the State before the expected third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The move comes in view of many health experts opinion that the third wave of the pandemic might highly affect children.

Ashok explained that the State government will be setting up such hospitals in every district by converting existing community health centres and funds have already been allotted to the district administrations for that purpose.

Speaking on the issue of reduction in the number of tests being conducted in the State, Ashok said that due to the lockdown people’s movements have been restricted and they are unable to get tested as before the lockdown when testing was being done even in bus and railway stations.
