Kalaburagi: Karnataka BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel has blamed the Congress is responsible for the increasing COVID-19 cases in the country.
He made the statements to reporters at the city’s airport before heading to Bidar on Friday to condole the family of a BJP functionary who died two days ago from COVID-19.
“Congress members slandered the vaccine by calling it Modi vaccine and BJP vaccine and made false claims that the vaccine is not effective. As a result, many people were hesitant to get the vaccine leading to the rise in infections and deaths,” Kateel explained his allegation.
“Even JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has stated that Congress has misrepresented facts about the vaccine. Congress has systematically worked to prevent people from getting vaccinated,” he added.
“Prime Minister Modi himself took the vaccine in February to raise awareness about it. Yet, people did not come forward for the vaccine until May. Now those same Congress members are crying that there is no vaccine,” Kateel said.
“Congress is doing cheap politics and involving in anti-national activities. Siddaramaiah is no exception to this. He does what the Congress high command tells him to do. People will not tolerate such behaviour for the sake of power. If Siddaramaiah continues like this then even people of Badami will drive him out,” Kateel added.
