Mangaluru: 840 vehicles seized, 76 cases registered against lockdown violators in 1 month

Mangaluru: In a press release, the Dakshina Kannada district police has stated that from April 22 to date they have seized 840 vehicles for lockdown violations and registered 76 cases against 7,636 people moving maskless in public places.

“The government has already imposed strict guidelines, to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is being stringently implemented in the district,” the release read.

“As the government has now extended the lockdown till June 7, residents are requested to faithfully adhere to the rules of distancing, mask-wearing and coming out of homes only for emergencies. The guidelines will be implemented more strictly henceforth in the Dakshina Kannada district,” the release added.
