Bengaluru: The State government will start a new mobile clinic program for rural areas called ‘Vaidayra Nade Halligala Kade’ (Doctors Tread To Villages).
Revenue Minister R Ashok had recently ordered the creation of this program under which final year medical students on internship, BSc Nursing, BDS, MDS, AYUSH graduates will be delegated for service.
Accordingly, on Sunday the Revenue Secretary issued guidelines for the program.
The mobile clinic will conduct physical examinations, throat sample collections and provide treatment, if needed, on the spot in villages.
As COVID-19 cases are increasing in rural areas and people are reluctant to get tested, the government has ordered the speedy implementation of this program.
The guidelines state that the mobile clinic must visit all villages in a taluk for a week and conduct Rapid Antigen tests. Those testing positive must be given a medical kit and those with symptoms but testing negative should undergo the RT-PCR test. The mobile clinic must also coordinate with the Village-level COVID-19 Task Force.
