Manjeshwar MLA takes oath in Kannada at Kerala Legislative Assembly

Thiruvananthapuram: Manjeshwar MLA A K M Ashraf on Monday took oath in Kannada at the Kerala legislative assembly.
The legislator from the Indian Union Muslim League, part of the Congress-led United Democratic Front, had defeated state president K Surendran by 745 votes to win.
Earlier too, several MLAs from Manjeshwar also used to take oaths in Kannada as the constituency shares borders with Karnataka.
As many as 136 legislators of the 140-member-strong House took the oath of office during the over three-hour-long session which began at 9 AM.
