Udupi: Deputy Commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha on Saturday urged people to strictly follow Covid protocol as the next few days are very crucial for the district.

In a video, he said, ” With the support of the people, the positivity rate of Covid has reduced from 38% to 19% in the district. As per government orders, we should bring the positivity rate to 10% before June 7 to avoid the extension of lockdown. Also, there is no shortage of medicines,  ventilators, ICU beds, and oxygen beds.”

He further said, ” Earlier, The health department was testing 2,500 samples daily which is now increased to 3,500 samples.”

“Strict action will be taken against those who break lockdown rules. Please stay at home unless there is an emergency,”  he added
