Rs 4 lakh compensation for families of COVID-19 dead is fake news, says Udupi DC

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has stated that the news of a compensation of Rs 4 lakh being given to the family of a COVID-19 deceased by the Central government and applications for that being available at the deputy commissioner’s office is false.
Jagadeesha clarified that there is no such program in existence.
The DC was responding to many such posts on social media websites which had stated of such a compensation.
