Covid-19: CM BS Yediyurappa gives morale boost to staff nurses

Bengaluru: To boost the morale of staff nurses treating COVID-19 patients, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday interacted with select staff nurses from different districts.

BS Yediyurappa said that 21,574 staff nurses are working in the state and an additional special Covid allowance of Rs 8,000 per month is paid to all staff nurses.

He appreciated the selfless and dedicated service rendered by them and said that out of the six applications received from staff nurses who died due to the Covid pandemic for grant of the Rs 50 lac compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Insurance Scheme, three have been cleared. The rest will be cleared soon.

A staff nurse from Wenlock Government Hospital, Mangaluru, Waheeda demanded that family members of nurses must also be vaccinated on a priority basis.
