Udupi: Large tamarind treefall causes immense losses

Katapadi: A huge tamarind tree on the old MBC Road here fell on a house causing a lot of damage to the house.
The treefall also brought down four electricity poles on the road.
Much of the house’s roof and electric fixtures were destroyed by the treefall.
Officials from MESCOM, the forest department and the gram panchayat arrived at the spot soon for inspection.
MESCOM has reportedly faced a loss of Rs 92,000.
Tree clearance operation is being jointly conducted by MESCOM and forest department officers and staff.
