Puttur: Man arrested for assaulting woman employee in medical shop

Puttur: An incident of a young man forcefully entering a medical shop and assaulting a woman staffer was reported from Ishwaramangala here on Tuesday.

The man had come to the medical shop to buy medicines. On seeing the woman alone in the shop, he entered it, assaulted her and attempted to force himself on her.

When the woman shouted and cried for help, people nearby came to her rescue and apprehended the man who was later handed over to the police.
