Bengaluru: Congress MLA MB Patil accused the Chief Minister Yediyurappa led BJP government of under-reporting black fungus cases.
Taking to MB Patil Twitter he wrote, “As per the Vijayapura district administration’s report, there are 127 reported cases of black fungus between May 17-31. Out of them, 81 patients are currently under treatment. However, in the mucormycosis report updated on June 1, only 57 cases are mentioned.”
“Such discrepancies will only lead to an inadequate supply of medicines, and as a consequence, more patients will suffer,” he further said.
He also appealed to the state government to look into this issue and take necessary action.
According to the state government, 1,370 cases of black fungus have been detected so far. Of these, 1,292 people are under treatment for the infection, while 27 people have been cured. The state also saw 51 people succumb to the infection.
