Chikkamagaluru: Four held for assault on doctor

Chikkamagaluru: Police have arrested four persons in connection with an assault on a doctor at Tarikere in the district on Monday, May 31.

On Monday afternoon, the victim identified as Dr. Deepak, a pediatrician in Basaveshwara Hospital was on his way home for lunch when the accused assaulted him.

The accused alleged the doctor’s involvement in the death of their child, a police official said.

Reacting to the incident Karnataka Dy CM Dr CN Ashwathnarayan told ANI that those who take the law into their hands will be dealt with as per the law & punished. “We need to take action & send a strong message. We’ll take strongest possible action against those found responsible,” he was quoted as saying to ANI.
